Welcome...

... to my site. It's mainly dedicated to digital photography, plus a few other bits and pieces for fun and interest. My aim is to try to help the amateur photographer by recording links, information and resources that have been helpful to me. I hope you enjoy the site and find it useful.

"My limitations are far more biological than technical. I know that the buck stops here, inside my head. If I'm having a bad day, I take bad pictures. My camera almost never has a bad day. If my pictures didn't come out well last week, I remind myself that they were taken with the same device that has also produced fantastic pictures."

4 Jun '04: Following the furore over their upgrade policy,Phase One have relented and put back support for 16-bit TIFF and third party profiles in C1LE and C1SE. A v3.5a version can be downloaded from RawWorkflow.com. They have also changed the cost of the update to zero dollars or, for a limited time, you can buy a bundle of five major upgrades. It's obviously money up front for Phase One, but given what they initially wanted to charge for this upgrade it looks like a good deal for committed raw shooters. I was reminded that I hadn't posted this news byNick Wilcox-Brown who's anavowed raw fan - he uses a 1Ds and converts with C1 - good to know he's still enthusiastic enough about C1 to bother to drop me an e-mail.

In an effort to reduce spam I've changed the format of my e-mail address used in the hyperlinks on the site. Apologies for the slight inconvenience of having to edit the address when you want to send me a message.
