Put my favourite 135/2 on the 10D yesterday afternoon and beetled into the back garden to see what I could see. Actually, that's a lie first I went into the front garden to see what I could do with the tulips that are past their best, but still have loads of colour. Reds were always a potential problem with the D30, and I've seen some moans about reds with the 10D, but this picture is more than OK. The fill flash has emphasised the saturated reds, but the details are still there — even the furthest petal, which looks to have slightly blown areas is like that in reality with the naked eye.

Returning to the back garden, smile I spotted some honeybees collecting nectar from some plant with pretty, little blue flowers. I started taking shots like this, not really expecting much, but figuring that it's a test of the AF (I was using single shot). However, I was really surprised and amazed at the results when I began to browse the pictures. The detail is wonderful. I like it so much, I've posted a special gallery: My 10D Works!

The other thing that has been occupying my time is Capture One Limited Edition. Phase One have issued RC2 with a number of big fixes and improvements. I like this software and it will probably become my preferred converter. BreezeBrowser is still going strong, but, after yesterday's announcement by Michael Tapes, I'm not betting my mortgage that we'll see a version of YarcPlus that supports the 10D.
