These are a several images from a cruise during May 2002 that took us through the Panama Canal. The story of the construction of the Panama Canal is fascinating. The official web site has much information, pictures and a live web cam showing the Miraflores Locks. Travelling through the Panama Canal is one of those "once in a lifetime" experiences. Conditions for photography were, unfortunately, not great. The weather, while extremely warm, was cloudy and very hazy. It is thanks to the miracle of digital technology and the auto color command is Photoshop 7 that these few images can be presented. These pictures were all taken with a Canon EOS D30 using the EF100-400 LIS lens. Roger |
