I have automated the creation of these files using Photoshop Side Click from KSSC. This is a Photoshop add-on utility program, which is a great time-saver, if you're a big fan of actions. There is a companion program, Photoshop Script Builder. I reviewed an early version of PSSC; it has improved greatly since then, and I haven't changed my opinion of how useful it is. It is always running when I use Photoshop.

PSSB provides a convenient interface for Photoshop scripting. Used together PSSB and PSSC provide a great deal of power and flexibility. (Note: I am a beta tester for these products, but otherwise have no commercial relationship with KSSC.)

Apart from creating the four different versions of the picture, the script flattens any layers and convert to sRGB (and 8-bit, if the image is still in 16-bit) for the full-size JPG. PSSC has a built incremental resize function, so it copes with downsizing the image correctly whatever orientation it is. I add my signature to the gallery slide, using my own Signature JavaScript (I could replace this using PSSB, but I prefer to use my script).

Two extremely valuable features of PSSB are its concept of projects and handling of folders. As I said earlier, I save developed images from C1LE to a folder: <drive>:\1 Conversions\CaptureOne\<mmdd>, for example," L:\1 Conversions\CaptureOne\0604". By defining "0604" as the project to PSSB, it will automatically create the folders "gallery", "psd", "slide", "thumb" that you saw in the folder tree earlier. If necessary, the project folder would also be created.
