Fit Image+ is a simple script that I created to save some hassle when organising images for articles on the site. What it does is change the size of the active image so that the long side equals the number of pixels specified in the dialogue window. You are also given the opprtunity to choose the interpolation method and convert the document's colour profile.
Running the Script
Start Fit Image+ using the File>Scripts command. You will see this dialogue:

Long Side: Enter the number of pixels you want for the longer side in the resized image. This value is "sticky" and will be remembered. Bicubic Sharper is the recommended method for downsizing; Bicubic Smoother should be used for upsizing. (The value for Long Side is stored in a file in the folder ..\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Scripts\VariationsSuite\FitImage.)
Interpolation: the default choice is the current Preferences setting, but you may choose any of the other available options.
Color Profile: the highlighted selection will be the embedded profile in the document; select another profile from the dropdown list, if you wish to convert the image. Note: untagged documents will automatically be assigned the sRGB profile. Please note that there are only a limited number of profiles defined in the script as supplied. You can easily add additional choices by editing the script; this procedure is described in Customising the Available Profiles.
[Go]: to execute the requested operations. The script is closed on completion.
[Help]: pops a short help message
[Cancel]: closes the script with no action taken
