Checking "Flatten" will merge the text layers and all other layers in the document.

Position

Check one of the 11 radio buttons to choose the position for your signature. Text will be oriented horizontally or vertically as shown in this screenshot. Minor adjustment to these positions can be made using the X/O and Y/O fields from the Font Details panel:

For some positions, you will need to adjust the offsets, if you are using a multi-line signature. For example, for a signature in any of the top positions, you will not need to compensate for multiple lines; text is positioned using the top-left corner of the text box, so the x and y offsets indicate how far from the image corner or top-edge the signature will be placed. For the other positions, you will need to increase the distance from the edge of the image to make room for extra lines. You will also need to increase the offset to allow for large point sizes.

Unless you want the signature to touch the edge of the image, you will always need to have a non-zero value for x and y offsets. If you have chosen the top-left corner (the radio button shown in the screenshot), then increase the value of X/O to move the signature away from the left edge. Increase the value of Y/O to move the signature down from the top.
