Another new version in v2 is the ability to automatically add a border to your images by extending the canvas. I often use a border to write an EXIF data. I've used this layout in several of galleries, for example, Macros 1.
For greater creative control, the size of the left, top right, and bottom borders can be individually specified. Here's an example (using these settings) with a larger bottom border.
Specify the RGB values for the border colour you want, or check the Use FG option to pick up the colour from the foreground swatch. This is handy, if you want to match the border to a colour from the image. Use the eye-dropper to set the foreground colour before running WV2+. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to use this technique in batch processing with introducing a stop statement that would require the action to be manually restarted.
Just above the control buttons panel, there is a series of checkboxes that allow you to select which of the three WV2+ components - text, image, border - will be active. Only the checked items will be used when the [Apply] button is clicked:
This makes it quicker to create a new watermark layout as you can, for example, apply the border once, deactivate the option and play around with image positioning. These flags are stored when you save settings.
